6 Tips on Saving Money With Your Marketing
Every business owner knows that marketing is important. After all, how else are you supposed to get the word out about your business, and grow your company?
But for many business owners, marketing can become a black hole that just gobbles up money, and produces little results. Over the last decade, The Game Changers have helped 7-figure business owners 3x their growth and profits through using better operational and marketing strategies.
The truth is that the fundamentals of marketing have changed little in over 100 years. But we make marketing our business much more complicated than it needs to be. Why? We focus on the wrong things.
So today I want to share with you 6 tips to help you save money with your marketing. So you can attract more clients, and increase your profits.
Let’s jump in!
1. Focus on Value
Every business seems to be churning out content these days. My newsfeed is full of it. Yet most of it is the same rehashed story… what’s new? What’s different?
Instead of paying lip service to what you *think* you should be saying, focus on putting out content that actually adds value by helping your ideal client with their problem. That way you’ll cut through the noise and start building a group of followers that trust you.
2. It’s Not About You
Funnily enough, your ideal client doesn’t actually want to know that much about you. They just want to know that they can trust you, and most importantly, they want to know that you can help them solve their problem.
Make sure that when you’re sharing content, you’re focusing on your prospect. What needs are you trying to fulfil? What problems are you helping them to overcome?
3: Engage Quickly and Regularly
It’s one thing to keep your socials full of updates and promotions. But the other side of the equation is engagement.
At The Game Changers, we’ve found that the more we respond to people’s comments on Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram and actively engage with them, not only does engagement skyrocket but we also attract good quality prospects.
Ask thought-provoking questions. Create a dialogue. Respond to their comments. Your ideal clients want to know you’re a business that cares about them. So show them.
4. Create an Ideal List
There’s little point in spending your time and money on marketing if you’re not super clear on who you’re trying to attract. I’ve seen business owners waste thousands of dollars in creating Clickfunnels pages or Facebook ad campaigns before actually getting clear on who they’re talking to.
Before getting distracted by flashy online systems and throwing money at ads, take the time to really hash out your customer avatar. What do they want? What will get their attention? What will move them to action?
Don’t spend a cent until you deeply understand who you’re talking to, and how to reach them.
5. Bulk Create Your Content
Instead of trying to stick to a publishing schedule every week for your socials, blogging, and so on…block out a chunk of time to bulk create a month’s worth at once.
Because let’s face it, business gets busy and when you’re under the pump, publishing content is usually the first thing to get sacrificed. “I’ll do it next week” becomes “It’s been months since I’ve published anything”. And if you’re not getting in front of your ideal prospects, they’re going to your competition who are visible.
Batching your content means you can get it created in one chunk, set up in an hour or two, and then you’ve got the rest of the month off. Just remember to focus on replying and engaging on all channels!
6. Follow the Calendar
At the beginning of each year, get out a calendar and look at the big events for that year. You’ve got things like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and a bunch of other special events that are a great opportunity for releasing relevant and authentic messages to your audience.
Pre-planning some fun marketing content for release specific to these events not only helps break up the monotony of the usual marketing noise, but it also allows you to jump in on the buzz that’s already going around.
Kind of like a surfer riding a wave, you can get your content seen (and message heard) by a wider section of your audience if you’re creative around these times.
