I was in a Hot Seat webinar with an Opulence member the other day.
We hold them monthly with members who are killing it. For an hour, I pick their brain so others can learn about strategies that are working for them.
A question came up at the end of our most recent Hot Seat -
“I’ve always got so much to do, I don’t get anything done on time. And I keep putting off the big projects that will grow my business. Help!”
The day-to-day of business can be a whirlwind.
That’s why our Opulence members have an ‘hour of power’ at the beginning of each day.
You see, each quarter, we set some big goals at our Business Intensive retreat. Then we break them down into monthly and weekly chunks. Some members even break down their weekly goals into bite-sized, super-actionable daily chunks.
The ‘hour of power’ is for work on a weekly goal.
Because small, consistent effort is the only way to actually get big stuff done.
At first, committing to an hour at the beginning of the day is hard.
It’s most people’s instinct to immediately check emails first thing.
But that quickly slip slides into returning messages, chasing solutions, and managing spot-fires.
Then, your day is g-o-n-e.
And you end up feeling chewed up and spat out at the end of the day.
What’s worse, those big projects that you *know* will help your business massively… they just sit there in a file on your desk. Gathering dust.
For me, I don’t look at my emails or messages in the morning.
Instead, I complete my top 3 goals for the day FIRST in my ‘hour of power’.
Sometimes, if I need more than an hour, I’ll take it.
After my 3 tasks have been completed, then it’s time to dip my toes into the day.
This coming week, I challenge you to have an ‘hour of power’ in the morning.
Even if you just commit to it for 1 or 2 days next week, that is important.
You’ll soon see the value in it, and you’ll start to change your habits around protecting your time.
And if you want our Quarterly / Monthly / Weekly goal setting template, just comment down below and let me know.
I’ll have one of the team hook you up.
