Do you always get sick the moment you slow down?
It used to happen to me every damn time.
Take a ‘holiday’ or just schedule some time off…. then BANG. Some sort of illness would hit like a tonne of bricks.
It was like the minute I slowed down, my cortisol levels would drop, and my body would nearly collapse.
Because I was always operating at such a high capacity, I never gave myself the opportunity to rest, relax, and heal.
If the same thing happens to you when you take a break, listen up.
It’s impossible to work at 100% capacity all the time.
I don’t care if you have some kind of superpower.
Maybe a radioactive spider bit you on the butt. Whatever.
At some point, anyone hustling 365 days a year will burn out.
Which is why in our Opulence program, we use a different model.
Instead of throwing our guts at the wall all year - and collapsing in a heap on our ‘holiday’ - we work in focused 90 day sprints.
Here’s how it works:
At our quarterly business intensive retreats, we create a 90 day business plan.
Then we split the following 3 months up into areas of focus -
Month 1 - Activate. This is where we implement our project plan. Get the team aligned towards the goal. Put stuff into action.
Month 2 - Calibrate. We check in and make sure that we’re tracking towards our 90 day goals. What can we learn from our results so far? Does a system need to be tweaked?
Month 3 - Accelerate. Now we have the processes in place, and have calibrated them to get the results we’re after, it’s time to push it for great results.
End of 90 days - CELEBRATE. (This part is important!)
We come together at our next business intensive to connect, learn, share and grow.
We take some time to celebrate and unwind in a beautiful location.
We spend time reflecting on what we achieved in the last 90 days, and use our lessons learned while mapping out our next 90 days.
And we come back to ‘work’ relaxed, refreshed, and ready for more.
This way, instead of running a 365 day marathon towards our business goals, we power ahead in smaller, more focused chunks.
Members who follow this process get more stuff done than back when they were pointing their attention at anything that moved.
They enjoy running their business more too...
If that sounds like something you’re interested in, I’ve got some spots open at our next retreat.
Let me know if you’re interested in attending for a day, and I’ll organise a discounted ticket.
It’s a good way to ‘stick your toe in’ before joining.
Just message me and let me know.
