Last month, I did a Hot Seat interview with a couple of Opulence members who have increased their revenue 6x over the past year.
We do Hot Seats every month so members can learn from - and be inspired by - each other’s journeys.
Anyway, these members started with us earning $450 per client, per ‘job’.
Sometimes, things were busy. So busy that the scales tipped into their personal life, making 16 hour days the norm. Other times, things were quiet… leaving them in cash-flow stress.
They were at the mercy of their business.
And it kind of treated them like this:
Less than a year later, they’ve reconfigured their business model, and repackaged their services to better meet their clients’ needs.
Excitingly, their new service structure has sent their average cost per client soaring to $24,000. That’s nearly a 5,000% increase in revenue.
What’s more, they’ve streamlined their business processes to run with less staff, and less time spent on regular tasks.
Which in turn means that they’re working far less, but earning far more.
Here’s three key factors that lead to this success:
- Question your current model.
Just because every business in your industry operates a certain way, doesn’t mean yours has to. Especially if your current model is maxed out - meaning your income is capped, and the only thing you can do to earn more is throw more hours into working.
Instead of trying to force a crappy model to work, stop and think seriously about:
- Which specific types of clients do I want to serve?
- How can I best serve them so they get outstanding results, and are happy to pay premium prices for it?
When you’re clear on this, start cutting out everything that doesn’t actively contribute to reaching this vision. And start restructuring your business and services around it.
Don’t get stuck in thinking ‘oh we can’t do things that way, nobody does things that way’.
Instead, think ‘what needs to change to make this vision a reality?’
- Plan, chart and actively work towards your goals.
Instead of letting their business ‘happen’ to them, our 6x Opulence legends started setting some high-level goals that reflected what they really wanted their lives to look like.
Because your business is a vehicle to give you the lifestyle you want. But if you don’t map out the journey, and be diligent about keeping on track, you could end up anywhere. Or nowhere.
So our 6x Opulence legends stopped simply waiting for clients to walk through the door, leaving themselves at the mercy of luck and chance. Instead, they built their new vision, and reverse-engineered what needed to happen to achieve it.
Now, I get that for many people, goal setting and planning is pretty unsexy.
But that’s because most people don’t do it right. Or they don’t have the accountability to stick to their action plan. So they don’t get results. That’s certainly not fun.
Done right, it definitely works. And when you start seeing tangible results from your efforts, goal setting and planning becomes an exciting activity, not a chore.
- Show up to learn from others who can help you.
In Opulence, we hold weekly group coaching sessions. Everyone puts aside an hour to jump online, dial in and actively participate.
It’s a time to ask questions, get guidance, and learn from others. Members find that even if they didn’t have a question to ask or problem to solve, someone else will get some guidance that benefits them too.
This kind of accelerated learning is a crucial part of the Opulence model.
And it’s a big factor in our members’ success.
Because trying to figure out things on your own costs you precious time and money. Those who achieve rapid growth the quickest do it by modeling the successful strategies of others.
If you’re interested in achieving rapid business growth this year, let’s talk.
I can’t guarantee you’ll see 6x growth… but what I can guarantee is that if you put in the work, you WILL see a remarkable positive change in your business.
One caveat: we don’t take on people that we can’t help. If you’d like to explore if your business is in the ‘Goldilocks zone’ and right for Opulence, the first step is a 15 minute conversation.
